Nice weekend overall

I had a nice weekend overall. The bad news was that my brother hurt his back badly on Friday evening, and so was either visiting a medical specialist or was laid up.

The side effect of the above was that we spent a lot of time in front of the television. We watched The Terminator, T 2, and T 3 in order. Then I re-watched the first episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I was impressed with the series before, but am more so now. Its consistency with the movies is incredible; the writers really do their homework. While the third movie was in ways disappointing, I'm also impressed with the series as a whole, movies included; it's really terrific science fiction. It's much deeper than I remember. Very good stuff.

I also watched the first new episode of Moonlight last night. While the pace of episode seemed a bit rushed, it's really good to have the show back. I hope it's doing all right.

Oh, and it's so nice to have Bones back too. I'm feeling inundated with good television right now.

So, about the weekend, it was a huge bummer that my brother is in such pain, but it was so cool to hang out with him and watch a bunch of TV; he really enjoyed it too. That's why it was such a nice weekend, all things considered.

Love and pain

It's amazing
how much good
     and how much bad
there is in life.

How a misunderstanding creates so much
     pain,
     suffering.

It's amazing
how much love
     there is
in the world
along with the anger,
pain,
and strife.

It's amazing that God loves us so much
considering how much we messed up his creation
and ourselves
and each other.

His love is why
there is any
love in the world
at all.

If it wasn't for God
and Him creating us in His image,
and His loving us
and giving Himself for us
there would be no love in the world at all.

Without Him there would be only selfishness
and strife
and pain
and suffering.
Hurt.

But with Him, even now,
there is Hope,
and there is
Love.

From my drawing class

I'm taking a colored pencil drawing class; today was the first meeting. It was quite fun.

I took a set of pictures of the still life we're working on so we can re-set it next week. I'm putting them here so they'll be easy to find.
